Dua Lipa is returning to Saturday Night Live next month, this time to pull "double duty" as both the host and musical guest.
Dua is going back to New York City to host SNL on May 4, an announcement that was shared during the most recent episode hosted by Ryan Gosling, who gave a Taylor Swift-themed opening monologue, per Entertainment Tonight.
This will be Dua's first time hosting the longtime sketch comedy show but her third time performing. She previously took the stage as musical guest at 30 Rock in February 2018 alongside host Natalie Portman and in December 2021 while serving as the musical guest alongside host and former SNL star Kristin Wiig.
The "Levitating" singer celebrated the milestone in a post on Instagram, calling herself "DOUBLE DUTY DUA" while sharing the iconic cork board and post-it note announcement.
Dua's appearance on SNL will come one day after she releases her upcoming third studio album, Radical Optimism. She recently shared her first single off the project, "Illusion." The new album will be her first in four years and is a long-awaited follow-up to her highly-lauded sophomore effort Future Nostalgia.
Dua said in a statement at the time that the term "radical optimism" really "resonated" with her after she was first introduced to the concept by a friend years ago, per People.
"It struck me — the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm," she said, adding, "It has also felt so confidently optimistic to me, and that honesty and attitude is a feeling I took into my recording sessions."
Radical Optimism drops May 3.
